Some of my silkscreen books and Llama Salutation greeting cards will be on sale at Grumpy Bert's table this Sunday at the Brooklyn Book Fest. If you find yourself in the area, swing on by and say hello to Bert!

Working ferociously to get everything ready for this weekend's Degenerate Craft Fair! I'll be debuting TWO new books (Alien Raver: Mushrooms, edition of 36 (disregard the numbering on the picture as it seems I can't add to save my skin) and Pulpo, edition of 24.) and a new series of Llama Salutation cards, edition of 25 for each. If you aren't able to attend DCF, fret not! These will go up on my web shop in January. More updates to follow!

Good news everyone! My comics collective, Three-Armed Squid, will have a table at the Degenerate Craft Fair, December 15th & 16th at the Dumbo Loft (York St stop on the F train)! We'll be selling our limited edition books and other wares. I'll be debuting new work, including Pulpo, a new Alien Raver mini-book and new llama greeting cards (see below for a preview)! We'd love to see you there! Some additional incentives: FREE BEER and music on Saturday from 6-9pm and the first 50 people at the door on Sunday will receive goodie bags!

More good news! I'm having a massive sale in my web shop! Take 20% off your entire order when you use the discount code BOOJ2NOOJ at checkout. Hoo-ray!

I bet you guys are wondering… how come there haven't been any new Uncanny Alien Raver posts? This question is most good. Between my two classes and freelancing, I've been super busy! I plan on posting up a few more before the end of the year. Once the first batch of 10 are done and properly documented, the original paintings will go on sale on my web shop! If you're unable to obtain the original, prints will be available on Society6 for a limited run.

In other news, I've finished printing my mini-comic Pulpo! Now a couple of hours of trimming and scoring and binding await me. Here's a sneak peak of the final prints:

In addition to silkscreening, I'm taking an editorial illustration class. My first assignment features that loveable red octopus from my comic. We had to create an ex libris (or bookplate) using our family name. Lastly, I contributed an illustration to Silver Screen Society last month for the movie Hook which you can view here! More to come soon!

Every day I become increasingly more pale as I print, print, print and you guessed it, print. Work continues on my comic, Pulpo. I'm hoping it'll be able to make its debut at The MoCCA Festival at the end of April. Keep your fingers crossed!

Kim and I are collaborating on a set of postcards to sell at Bust Magazine's Craftacular and Food Fair on April 14th. Called Rawrs & Noms, the theme is monsters and food. One of my contributions is a pair of creatures from the Black Lagoon enjoying some black tea. I'm working on some more goodies which I will post shortly.

Working, working, working…

2/9/12

Greetings from February! How time has flown. I'm currently silkscreening the cover for my Pulpo comic, as well as putting the finishing touches on a comic for the first ever Three-Armed Squid anthology I'm producing with a few friends (see here, here and here). It's going to be a busy couple of months as we all prepare for our MoCCA debut as a foursome. I'll have some more previews of Pulpo in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned!

Happy 2012!

I'm almost done working on my Pulpo comic (hurray!) but there is still much to be done. In other news, I recently applied to the SVA MFA Illustration as Visual Essay program. I won't know whether I got into the program until April, but I have a good feeling about it. Now all attention can be paid to preparing for MoCCA (which is also in April). More updates soon!
